Audi do Brasil Celebrates 30 Years with Q6 e-tron, Formula 1 and RS 6 Avant Legacy

São Paulo, Brazil – Audi do Brasil celebrates its 30-year history in the country with a series of actions that honor the past, challenge the present and anticipate the future of premium mobility. Among the novelties are the exhibition of the Formula 1 project in the capital of São Paulo, the launch of the brand new RS 6 Avant Legacy, the revelation of the Q6 e-tron prototype and the announcement of the partnership with Senna Brands. The initiatives were presented first-hand at the event that took place on Thursday (21), in Parque Mirante, in the city of São Paulo, within the Allianz Parque, and which was attended by a selected audience of employees, dealers, partners, influencers, press and customers of the brand.

“It is with immense satisfaction that Audi celebrates 30 years of history in Brazil. Throughout these three decades, the brand of the four rings has been consolidated and has been standing out since then in the national automotive scenario, understanding more and more the particularities of our market, winning the trust and loyalty of Brazilians, providing a premium experience at all stages of the customer journey and offering the public innovative, technological vehicles that point to the future of mobility,” celebrates Daniel Rojas, President and CEO of Audi do Brasil.

The partnership between Audi do Brasil and Senna Brands will celebrate the 30 years of the pilot’s legacy, responsible for bringing to the Brazilian market the vehicle brand admired around the world. The union of brands in this special year will be celebrated in an institutional project and actions that share the same values, purposes and legacies.

The brand of the four rings also announced the launch in the country of RS 6 Avant Legacy, a special series developed exclusively to the Brazilian market and limited to only 15 units of the legendary “pure-blood” stationwagon. The model is part of the manufacturer’s series of launches in the country this year and gained a new look, more equipment and dynamic adjustments that reduced its total weight and made its performance even more sporty.

Equipped with the renowned 4.0 V8 biturbo thruster that develops 630 horsepower, eight-speed tiptronic transmission and quattro permanent all-wheel drive system, the model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds – 0.2s faster than the previous model – and reaches the maximum speed of 280 km/h. In addition, there is a new exhaust system to intensify the sound experience. The units will arrive in Brazil throughout this year at the suggested price of R$ 1,364,990.00.

“We are proud to perpetuate our DNA of competition tracks throughout our vehicle portfolio, which offers options for all tastes and styles – such as stationwagon lovers, a segment that, although rare in the market, offers a spectacular combination of comfort, versatility, performance and driving dynamics. And the special series RS Avant Legacy achieved what seemed unlikely – to make the consecrated model even more fun at the wheel,” celebrates Renato Celiberti, Head of Sales at Audi do Brasil.

During the ceremony, the brand presented exclusively on Brazilian soil the prototype of its car for Formula 1 from 2026. The thruster has been developed at the Audi Sport facilities in Neuburg, near Ingolstadt, in southern Germany, where the company’s team of experts is focused on the brand new engine made especially for the competition. It is the first time in more than a decade that a Formula 1 engine will be built in Germany.

The first tests with the new engine are expected to take place in 2025. Recently, the brand of the four rings announced the restructuring of its steering body focused on Formula 1, in addition to the intention to acquire 100% of the Sauber Group, an experienced team that has been developing and will manufacture the racing vehicle at its headquarters in the city of Hinwil, Switzerland. Sauber will also be responsible for the planning and execution of the race operations.

“Audi’s entry into Formula 1 from 2026 mirrors our past, present and future. A brand that had origins on the competition tracks, arrived in the country at the hands of the eternal ‘boss’ Ayrton Senna and is currently developing an electrified technology capable of offering a sustainable and cutting-edge performance to compete in the most renowned category of global motorsport,” says Gerold Pillekamp, Head of Marketing and Communication at Audi do Brasil.

And speaking of the future of premium mobility, the four-ring brand revealed first-hand the prototype of the Audi Q6 e-tron, which marks the inauguration of electromobility at the manufacturer’s headquarters in Ingolstadt, Germany. Equipped with an 800-volt electric system, powerful and efficient electric motors, an innovative battery and charging management system, as well as a completely new electronic architecture, the Q6 e-tron prototype represents the next big step in the electrification and digitization of Audi’s model range. The vehicle will open pre-sale in the second half of 2024.

“We are gradually paving the way for electric mobility in the country. We have already invested almost R$ 90 million in charging infrastructure for electrified cars since 2019, in addition to having our complete network of dealers equipped with ultra-fast chargers throughout Brazil,” says Marcos Quaresma, Head of Electrification at Audi do Brasil. “We are in tune with the headquarters in Germany to offer the latest models and technologies available to the Brazilian market, and with the Q6 e-tron we demonstrate that Brazil plays a central role in the Latin American region within the global electrification strategy of the brand,” he concludes.

Audi do Brasil Audi celebrates 30 years in Brazil in 2024, a trajectory full of challenges, overcomings and achievements. The first appearance in the country took place in 1992, at the São Paulo Motor Show, with the Audi 100 sedan. The following year, the eternal idol Ayrton Senna became the official representative of the brand on national soil, with Senna Import. In 1994, the automaker’s coveted vehicles began to be officially marketed here and soon won the streets of the country, with unprecedented technologies and unprecedented driving dynamics.

Audi do Brasil is also one of the pioneers to encourage electromobility and has already invested almost R$ 90 million in the infrastructure of electric chargers throughout the country, in addition to offering charging infrastructure in more than 40 dealerships in the national territory. Currently, Audi has consolidated itself as one of the most desired brands in Brazil, being present with its administrative headquarters in São Paulo (SP), logistics terminal in Vinhedo (SP) and the vehicle factory in São José dos Pinhais, in the metropolitan region of Curitiba (PR), where the Audi Q3 and Audi Q3 Sportback models are produced.
